Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun softball team officially added three transfers on Monday, with the additions of infielders Kirsten Schwirtlich and Katie Repole, as well as outfielder Taylor Terrio.

All three will be eligible to participate in the 2015 season.

Schwirtlich, a native of Corpus Christi, Texas, played the last two seasons at Houston Baptist. A left-handed hitter, Schwirtlich, started all 92 games over the past two years for Houston Baptist, primarily at shortstop, although she did see some time in the outfield.

In 2013, Schwirtlich was named the Southland Conference Freshman of the Year, after hitting a .366 with ten home runs and 47 runs batted in, and followed that by earning NFCA Third Team All-Region and All-Southland Conference First Team honors after hitting a .411, along with nine homers and 38 RBI's in 2014.

Repole, a native of San Antonio, Texas, comes to Louisiana after playing the last two seasons at Illinois, primarily as a third baseman. As a freshman in 2013, Repole, a right-handed hitter, hit a .202, while driving in 11 runs, and followed that by hitting a .195 with one homer and 10 RBI's in 2014.

Terrio, an outfielder, attended Riverside Academy in Paullina, La., before playing one season for Nicholls St., where she was named the 2014 Southland Conference Freshman of the Year, after hitting a .389, along with one home run, 17 RBI's, and ten stolen bases.

The three transfers, along with nine freshmen, join 25 returning letter-winners from a team that went 49-10-1 a season ago, including a trip to the Women's College World Series.
