Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun women's and men's basketball teams will unofficially open up their respective 2014-2015 seasons on Wednesday night with an exhibition tilts at the Cajundome.

Admission to the doubleheader is free for the public, plus there will be fun jumps, free schedule posters, autographs from players and coaches, and free t-shirts for UL students.

The UL women will be in action first, taking on LSU-Alexandria at 5 o'clock.

Coach Garry Brodhead's squad returns eight letterwinners and four starters from a team that went 14-16 a season ago, including junior guards Kia Wilridge and Keke Veal, who have been starters the last two years.

The Cajuns will be taking on the Lady Generals of LSU-Alexandria, who will be playing their first year of basketball this season.

The UL women will begin their regular season schedule on November 14 when they travel to take on Lamar.

The Louisiana men's team will meet Loyola-New Orleans at approximately 7:15 pm this evening.

Coach Bob Marlin's squad nine players from last year's team that qualified for the NCAA Tournament, including starters and preseason all-conference selections Shawn Long and Xavien Rimmer, as well as seven talented newcomers.

The Cajuns will go up against the Wolfpack of Loyola-New Orleans, an NAIA school out of the Southern States Athletic Conference, who went 6-21 last year.

The UL men will open up regular season play on November 14, when they host Louisiana College.
