The sixth-ranked Louisiana Ragin’ Cajun baseball team returns to the diamond on Wednesday evening, when they travel to New Orleans to take on the Tulane Green Wave in non-conference action at Turchin Stadium.

The game was scheduled for Tuesday night, but has been postponed, until Wednesday at 6:30 pm.

This will mark the final non-conference game before the start of Sun Belt Conference play for Louisiana, who opens up league play on Friday, in Monroe, against ULM.

The Cajuns, who swept a three-game, weekend, non-conference series from Texas Southern over the weekend, are now 13-2 on the year, while Tulane, who dropped two-of-three games in a tournament in San Francisco, California over the weekend, currently stands 9-5.

Louisiana is currently hitting a .273 as a team, along with seven home runs, 90 runs batted in, and 26 stolen bases. UL is led, offensively, by Seth Harrison and Tyler Girouard, who are both hitting a .333, and a .324, respectively, and Jace Conrad, who has driven home a team-high 18 runs.

Tulane is currently hitting a .253 as a team, along with five home runs, 71 runs batted in, and nine stolen bases. The Green Wave is paced by Richard Carthon and Andrew Garner, who are hitting a .383, and a .341, respectively.

Pitching-wise, the Cajuns bring in a 2.35 team earned run average into the match-up.

Senior left-hander Cody Boutte, who is 1-0 with a 6.75 ERA. on the season, is expected to get the start for UL.

The Green Wave, who currently have an overall 2.93 ERA., is expected to counter with freshman right-hander Corey Merrill, who is 0-0 with a 3.24 ERA.

Tulane leads the all-time series, 43-42, including three-straight, and a 7-5 victory last year, in Lafayette.

First-pitch is scheduled for 6:30.
