Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun baseball team returns to the diamond on Friday night, as coach Tony Robichaux's squad plays host to the Troy Trojans, in the opening game of a three-game, weekend, Sun Belt Conference series at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field.

Louisiana is 20-23 overall, and 8-13 in Sun Belt Conference play, while Troy will come in at 20-25 overall, and 8-13 in league play.

The two teams are tied for last place in the conference, and are in danger of not making the Sun Belt Conference Tournament, which qualifies only eight of the ten teams in the league.

On the other hand, each team is only one game behind three teams (ULM, UALR, & WKU) who are currently tied for sixth place in the standings.

UL is expected to throw senior right-hander Jordan Nicholson (3-5, 4.27 era.) in the series opener on Friday night, while Troy is expected to counter with senior right-hander Tyler Ray (3-5, 5.05 era.)

Game times for the series are 6 o'clock on Friday and Saturday night's, and 1 o'clock for the series finale on Sunday.
