Louisiana's Ragin Cajun baseball team plays their Sun Belt Conference home opener on Friday night, as coach Tony Robichaux's fifth-ranked squad plays host to the Georgia St. Panthers, in the opening game of a three-game, weekend, league series at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field.

Game times are scheduled for 6 pm Friday, 2 pm on Saturday and 1 pm on Sunday. Catch all the games on the radio, as they can be heard on 96.5 KPEL-FM & kpel965.com.

Louisiana (19-2, 3-0) has won their last nine games, including a three-game Sun Belt Conference sweep of the ULM Warhawks last weekend in Monroe, and two non-conference victories over the Nichoolls St. Colonels this week.

Georgia St. (10-11, 1-2) dropped a a non-conference game to Georgia Tech (9-4) this week, after falling in two of three games to the WKU Hilltoppers last weekend.

The Cajuns are hitting .295 as a team, which places them second in the league going into the series. Centerfielder Seth Harrison (.344-1-12) and shortstop Blake Trahan (.342-1-14) lead the Cajuns in hitting, with second baseman Jace Conrad pacing the club in runs batted in, with 22.

The Panthers currently lead the Sun Belt Conference in hitting, at a .301, with Nic Wison leading the way. Wilson, is currently the league's triple crown leader, hitting a .429 with 8 home runs and 26 RBI's.

Pitching-wise, Louisiana ranks first in the league, with a 2.15 team ERA., while Georgia St. ranks ninth, at a 5.14.

The Cajuns feature Carson Baranik (4-0, 0.70) and Austin Robichaux (3-1, 1.66), who rank first and fourth in the league, respectively, in terms of ERA. Robichaux will get the start on Friday night, with Baranik getting the call on Saturday, while the Sunday is still TBA.

The Panthers, will counter with left-hander Kenny Anderson (2-1, 4.26) on Friday, left-hander Garrett Ford (0-0, 4.58) on Saturday, and left-hander Andrew Fessler (1-2, 7.40) on Sunday.

This will be the first-ever meeting between the two schools
