Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun baseball team captured a non-conference home win on Tuesday evening, defeating the Houston Cougars, 3-1, at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field.

Freshman rightfielder Dylan Butler paced UL at the plate, going 3-for-4, with two rbi's.

Freshman right-hander Cord Cockrell (1-1) picked up the win in relief, with Caleb Kellogg recording his second save of the season.

Austin Pruitt (0-2) suffered the loss for UH.

With the win, the Cajouns improved to 7-5 on the year, while the Cougars fell to 6-6.

Louisiana is right back in action tonight, as they travel to Lake Charles, to take on the McNeese St. Cowboys, in a non-conference tilt.

First-pitch is scheduled for 6:30 pm.
