The 6th-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajun baseball team ran their win streak to five games on Saturday afternoon, crushing the ULM Warhawks, 14-1, in the second game of a three-game, weekend, Sun Belt Conference series in Monroe.

The win for Louisiana, their second in as many days against ULM, is also their 16th in their last 17 games.

The Cajuns scored runs in the first seven innings, with one the first, three in the second, two in the third, two in the fourth, four in the fifth, and in in both the sixth and seventh innings, as they cruised to the 13-run win.

Louisiana, who out-hit the Warhawks, 15-4, were led at the plate by shortstop Blake Trahan, who collected three hits, while Ryan Leonards, Dylan Butler, and Tyler Girouard all hit solo home runs.

Carson Baranik (4-0) recorded the win, allowing only three hits, one run, and a walk, while striking out eight over six innings of work.

Alex Herneling (0-2) suffered the loss for ULM, who dropped their seventh-straight game.

With the victory, the Cajuns improved to 16-2, overall, and 2-0 in Sun Belt Conference play, while the Warhawks fell to 7-13, and 0-2, respectively.

Louisiana goes for the series sweep on Sunday at 2 o'clock, as the two teams wrap-up their three-game set.
