This is video of UFC middleweight fighter Brian Stann, who stopped his own fight against Alessio Sakara.

Stann knocked Sakara down, but then clearly pulled back, waving to the referee that Sakara was knocked out.

Most fighters in that position would have continued to pummel their opponents. And that's not a criticism against them. It's just the nature of the sport. The adrenaline is flowing, and you're trained to go all out, until you hear the bell, or until the referee tells you to stop.

Stann deserves praise though, as he knew the fight was over, and there was no use in punishing his opponent any more than he already had.
