Two members of the LSU Tigers are in the running for the top defensive back in the nation.

Cornerback Greedy Williams and safety Grant Delpit were both named semifinalists for the Jim Thorpe Award on Monday.

Williams and Delpit are part of an LSU secondary that leads the nation with 14 interceptions, while ranking 6th in the country in pass efficiency allowed.

A Third-Team All-American as a freshman in 2017, Williams has compiled 23 tackles, to go along with four pass break-ups and two interceptions this season.

Delpit, in his second year as a starter, leads the nation with five interceptions, while also  accumulating 8.5 tackles for loss, which leads the team, and four sacks.

Two former LSU players won the Jim Thorpe Award, with Patrick Peterson and Morris Claiborne capturing the honor in back-to-back years, 2010 and 2011.
