The rest of the Sun Belt needs to beware. The beast inside Stefan Trosclair is awakening right before the conference tournament.

Trosclair picked up Sun Belt Player of the Week honors for his performances against ULM and UNO, verifying his beastly week of baseball. The Ragin' Cajuns senior slugger registered multi-hit and multi-RBI games in three out of the four outings last week, when his Head Coach Tony Robichaux needed it most.

Fans have been waiting for Trosclair's bat to catch fire all season, and after riding out some slumps, it looks like he's back to being dangerous as ever.

“Even though times got tough, he got tougher and continued to work and stay grinding, and now the game is paying him back for his hard work and effort," Coach Robichaux stated. "He never let his struggles change his approach, and because of that we were able to catch South Alabama and keep our season goals intact. I can’t be more proud of him to receive this honor.”

Louisiana needed to win out over the last two weeks to earn the #1 seed in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament, and Trosclair and company came through in the clutch. In only four games last week, Trosclair raised his average from .257 to .273. It was a 16 point jump, and he's now sporting his highest average of the season.

When it comes to postseason baseball, nobody cares about what you did in the regular season. Sure, Trosclair's numbers aren't where folks expected them to be this season, but what's stopping him from turning into a human torch down the stretch?

Remember what happened last time Trosclair got hot heading into the Sun Belt tournament? If not, let me refresh your memory...

"OH...MY...WORD, JAY." It never gets old. Let's hope Trosclair still has some of that magic left in his bat for the trip to San Marcos.
