Last season was a tough year for the Northside Vikings. A 3-7 finish overall may have included a couple of close losses, but ultimately, it ended with Coach Trev Faulk’s team missing out on the playoffs, which is something the Vikings aren’t normally excluded from. There also were reports of numerous players leaving the team as Coach Faulk continued to stress discipline and accountability to his student-athletes.

So, this summer is very critical to rebounding from last season’s disappointment. Coach Faulk went on ESPN 1420’s “Off The Bench” with Brandon Comeaux to talk about his team’s “tremendous” summer.

“Our participation is the best since I’ve been here. I think the biggest part of that is the better players on our team are here everyday which kinda makes everyone else know that they need to be here everyday as well…My guys are starting to take more ownership of the team.”

Coach Faulk addressed why last season was “a learning experience” and talked about players that are emerging as leaders on his team. He also shared his thoughts on his former team, Vermilion Catholic, winning the Division IV state championship last season.
