LSU catcher Ty Ross delivered three RBI, and the pitching staff held Alcorn State (12-20) to only one run off three hits as the 21st-ranked Tigers surged past the Braves, 7-1, Wednesday night in Alex Box Stadium.

The Tigers (22-12, 3-9 SEC) return to Southeastern Conference play this weekend when they host Auburn. Game 1 begins Friday at 7 p.m. CDT in Alex Box Stadium.
