LSU starting pitcher Kevin Gausman allowed only one run on two hits in seven innings, as the freshman found plenty of run support in a 12-4 game 2 victory over Kentucky on Friday night at Alex Box Stadium.

LSU first baseman Mason Katz returned to the starting lineup by tying a school record with three doubles in a 4-for-5 effort at the plate. Katz scored three times and drove in two runs.

LSU improved to 27-17 overall and 6-14 in Southeastern Conference play. Game 3 is set for Saturday at 1 p.m. CT.
