The LSU Tigers came into the NCAA Super Regionals riding a 14-game winning streak and winning their last 19 of 21 games and timely hits in the 8th inning would give the Tigers the 4-3 comeback win after trailing through the majority of the game. The Tigers have won 15 straight games and are now one win away from Omaha.

Alex Lange and Konnor Pilkington both had marvelous pitching performances as they both throw over 100 pitches. Pilkington threw for 6 innings allowing no runs on just 4 hits and allowed 4 walks. Lange threw for 7 2/3 innings allowing 3 runs on 3 hits and he struck out 10 batters, while Pilkington only struck out 4 batters.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs scored first in the game when they had the bases loaded in the top of the 1st inning when Lange hit the batter at the plate with just one out but that's all the Bulldogs would manage in the 1st. Pilkington needed just 9 pitches to get out of the bottom of the 1st. While Lange seemed to struggle in the 1st inning, he got his pitching under control the rest of the game and Pilkington struggled for a couple innings after the 1st but didn't allow the Tigers hitters to cause any damage.

The Tigers had multiple chances to score throughout the game with bases loaded and runners in scoring position, the majority of those situations were with less than 2 outs in the inning. Probably the biggest chance they had to score was in the 7th inning with 2 in scoring position with just 1 out when the Tigers hit a fly ball that was caught for the second out and the ball was thrown home as Beau Jordan was thrown out the plate for the final out in the inning.

The Bulldogs would score 2 more in the top of the 8th on an RBI double to go up 3-0 going to the bottom of the 8th. The Tigers would come roaring back in the bottom of the 8th when Greg Deichmann hit a 2 RBI double to start the scoring for LSU. Deichmann would score on a Zach Watson RBI single to tie up the game The Tigers would then take the 4-3 lead on Michael Papierski sac fly. The Bulldogs would get the lead runner on in the 9th and get him to third but couldn't bring him home and the Tigers would complete the comeback win.
