Tigers Blank Privateers, 5-0

The LSU Tigers captured a non-conference win on Tuesday night, with a 5-0 shutout victory, over the UNO Privateers, in New Orleans. Bill Franques, of lsusports.net, has the story, below.

LSU starter Tyler Jones hurled a magnificent complete-game shutout and struck out a career-high 15 batters to lift the Tigers past New Orleans, 5-0, Tuesday night at Maestri Field.

The Tigers (34-19) have won 10 out of the past 12 games and posted a season sweep of the Privateers (3-48).

LSU will travel to Starkville to face Mississippi State, beginning Thursday at 6 p.m. CDT, in the final SEC regular season series of 2011.
