We've reached the semifinal round of the LHSAA football playoffs, and three teams from the Acadiana area remain alive in their quest for a spot for the state finals.

In a class 5A semifinal, the 7th-seeded Carencro Bears play host to third-seeded Byrd. The visitors are 12-0 on the year, and have won every game by at least ten points, while Carencro is 12-1, with their only loss coming at the hands of Acadiana (32-14) back on October 21.

In class 4A, the 4th-seeded Breaux Bridge Tigers will entertain top-seeded Neville. The Tigers are 12-1 on the season, while Neville is undefeated, at 12-0. In the playoffs, Breaux Bridge has outscored the oppoition, 125-21, while Neville has outscored their opponents, 126-30.

In a class 1A semifinal match-up, the second-seeded Vermilion Catholic Screaming Eagles host sixth-seeded West St. John. VC is 13-0, while West St. John comes into the contest at 11-2. Vermilion Catholic has scored 153 points in three playoff games, while West St. John has surrendered only 15 points.
