Sean Payton will have his hands full with this draft pick but they picked up a defensive need. Al-Quadin Muhammad from the University of Miami was suspended for the entire 2014 season after being in a fight during the spring game.

In 2015, he led the team in sacks with 5 and 4 quarterback hurries. The defensive end finished with 54 tackles finishing 3rd on the team in that category. He was kicked off of the team in 2016 because of luxury car scandal that violated NCAA rules. He declared for the NFL draft after he was unable to find another to team to join.

The Saints had 7 draft picks in the 2017 NFL draft and they drafted the players they needed to fill positions especially on defense. Muhammad isn't as experienced as most players in the NFL draft with only playing 1 full season in college but he could prove to be a player that could contribute if he can keep his discipline issues under control. They always say that players picked in rounds 4-7 in the draft will help the team produce and contribute to the success of the team.

Overall the Saints had a good draft and they expect the players they drafted to help contribute. The Saints have always had players drafted in the later rounds that have done really well especially in the Sean Payton Era. Marques Colston is one of the better players that the Saints drafted in the later rounds so the Saints hope that Muhammad can be one of those players on defense.
