The Texas State Bobcats picked up a road win and got some help last night and have moved into sole possession of first place in the Sun Belt Conference.

TEXAS STATE 84, ARKANSAS STATE 74--The Bobcats went on a 13-3 run early in the second half to break open a tight game and held the lead for the remainder.  Texas State (20-5, 9-3 Sun Belt) scored 26 second chance points in the game which proved to be the difference.  Nijal Pearson led three Bobcats in double figures with 21 points.  The loss for Arkansas State (10-15, 4-8) came in spite of a 39 point performance from Ty Cockfield, who went over 1,000 points in his career.

LITTLE ROCK 56, UTA 52--The Trojans won their third straight, beating the Mavericks in a defensive battle.  Neither team shot the ball very well, with Little Rock (10-15, 5-7 Sun Belt) hitting just 38% from the field, including 2-13 from three point range.  UTA (12-13, 8-4) fell out of a tie for first place with the loss.  The Mavericks shot 32 percent for the game, 6-25 from beyond the arc.  Rayjon Tucker and Kris Bankston each had eleven points for the Trojans, while Brian Warren scored ten.
