TCU Invited to Join Big 12

TCU is meeting this morning to discuss an invitation to join the Big 12 conference.

The Horned Frogs are expected to accept the invitation.

TCU is playing in its final season in the Mountain West Conference.  It was expected to join the Big East next year.

TCU will have to pay a $5 million exit fee from the Big East, but would not be subject to the 27-month waiting period to exit the league, as Pittsburgh and Syracuse are as long-standing members.

The move would leave the Big East with six football playing schools following the departure of Pittsburgh and Syracuse.
