Lack Of Smart Thinking In Conference Realignments

Last year, Nebraska left the Big XII to join the Big Ten, while Colorado left the Big XII to join Utah, who left the Mountain West Conference, to join the new Pac-12.

Recently, Texas A&M announced they will leave the Big XII, and are expected to join the SEC, and recent reports say that Missouri may be headed from the Big XII to the SEC as well.

We're still not done.

Pittsburgh and Syracuse are leaving the Big East, and going to the ACC.

Meanwhile, the remaining teams in the Big East and the Big XII are trying to salvage something their respective leagues.

All of this movement...is it a smart thing for all these conference, and schools, to do?

PAC-12 Courting Texas And Oklahoma

Various media outlets reported over the weekend that the PAC-12 was working out details to add Texas, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, and Oklahoma State to their conference. Today, espn.com's Joe Schad is reporting that PAC-12 officials are actively courting both Texas and Oklahoma, as well as sorting through details to make a potential move work.

Pac-12 Contacted By Interested Schools

Reports swirled over the weekend that Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas, and Texas Tech could be joining the PAC-12 in the near future. Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott admitted that the conference has been contacted by "prospective members."
