Fan favorite Marcus Thornton was traded by the Hornets today to the Kings for power forward Carl Landry. The Louisiana native Thornton is in his second year out of LSU. Carl Landry is a three year veteran from Purdue.

Shocking news from the NBA today as Jazz all-star point guard Deron Williams was traded to the New Jersey Nets. In the trade, Utah receives F Derrick Favors, G Devin Harris, a first round draft pick, and cash.

Hornets Still Exploring Trade Options

The New Orleans Hornets have been the surprise of the NBA thus far, but they are not fooled by their 7-0 start. Though they've beaten "contenders'' Miami, San Antonio and Denver (until Melo leaves), the Hornets' front office knows it hasn't yet joined the elite.
The club's plan to get to that level involves Peja Stojakovic, whose value is now in his contract rather than his shot. ESPN's Chris Broussard has the story.
