Going into Saturday night's matchup with the New Jersey Nets, the Hornets had only one win this year when trailing after 3 quarters. Last night, they were down 12 heading into the 4th, but remained poised. Clutch shooting and superb defense paid big dividends as New Orleans earned a 102-94 victory.

Lowly Bobcats Defeat Docile Hornets

In a battle between two of the NBA's worst teams, the Charlotte Bobcats earned their 6th win of the season after defeating the New Orleans Hornets (10-32) Monday night by the score of 73-71. Bismack Biyomobo blocked Trevor Ariza's potential game-tying dunk in the final seconds to procure the victory for Charlotte.

Raptors Rip Hornets 95-84

Playing in their first home game in 16 days, the New Orleans Hornets played like a heavy road underdog to the lowly Toronto Raptors. As a result, they fell to 8-27 on the season. Hornet shooting guard Marco Belinelli (pictured above) scored 20 points in defeat.

New Orleans native Greg Monroe had 24 points and 16 rebounds to lead the Detroit Pistons to a home win over the New Orleans Hornets by the score of 89-87. The loss was the fifth straight for the Hornets (4-20). Trevor Ariza (26 Pts, 7 Reb, 4 Ast, 3 Stl) had his best performance of the season in defeat.

Hornets Thumped By Heat

The Miami Heat killed the New Orleans Hornets on the glass, and as a result, killed the Hornets on the scoreboard. When the final horn blew, New Orleans had 25 rebounds, the lowest total for any team this season. After only trailing by two at the half, the Hornets couldn't play with the Heat the rest of the way, ultimately falling 109-95.

The New Orleans Hornets followed their best performance of the season with their worst. After defeating the Orlando Magic by 26 on Friday, the Hornets were handled at home by the Atlanta Hawks Sunday night by the score of 94-72. New Orleans shot a dismal 37.5% from the field.
