Ryan Braun’s 50-Game Suspension Overturned

For the first time, a Major League Baseball player has successfully challenged the results of a drug test.

Ryan Braun, the National League's Most Valuable Player, was cleared by an arbitrator yesterday after he tested positive for a banned substance last fall.

The results of the test were revealed about the time Braun was named the MVP.

Detroit Tigers Pay Fielder Like A Prince

The Detroit Tigers have reportedly agreed to a 9 year $214 million deal with slugger Prince Fielder. The 27 year old All-Star hit .299 with 38 homers and 120 RBIs last season to helpl the Brewers win the NL Central for their first division title since 1982.

Dale Sveum Named Cubs’ Manager

Dale Sveum has been named the manager of the Chicago Cubs.

Sveum was most recently the hitting coach for the Milwaukee Brewers.  He succeeds Mike Quade, who was fired after going 71-91 in his only full season with the club.

Brewers, Cardinals Advance To NLCS

This year's National League Championship Series will Feature the Milwaukee Brewers, and the St. Louis Cardinals.

The Brewers won the final game of their best-of-five game National league Division Series, defeating the Arizona Diamondbacks, 3-2, in ten innings, on Friday night.

The Cardinals qualified for the NLCS by blanking the Philadelphia Phillies, 1-0, in game five of their National League Division Series.

The Worst Mascots In Sports

Hey Cajun fans, do you remember the "Bleacher Creature"? He/she/whatever was a blueish/purple...well...thing, that was around for a couple of UL women's basketball games, around 1986.

The "Bleacher Creature" certainly was no Cajun Chicken.

Luckily, the "Bleacher Creauture" was short-lived, as is only an amusing memory.
