I'm really looking forward to the Cajuns' home opener this weekend against Nicholls State.  Weather should be great, the Cajuns are coming off a solid win, an in-state opponent is coming to town which will help the crowd somewhat and people are excited about what Coach Mark Hudspeth is bringing to the table.

Another game, another road trip. Because of the Labor Day holiday, we only had three days to get ready for this one, and as a result, it was a really busy week.  And, again, Steve and I were ready to get on the road.  At the airport for 11:15.  We got ...

It was during the dog days of summer. Not a heckuva lot to talk about on the radio. And, one day in July, the call came in. "Jay, what do you think about LSU and Oregon?" My answer was quick. "LSU will win,"  I said, "and it won't be close." ...

Well, game one of the Mark Hudspeth era is in the books.  And, now that we've had a day or two to digest things, here are some of my ups and downs for game one. Let's get the bad stuff out of the way first. DOWNS 1.  61--While there were some bright spots on defense, the bottom line is the Cajuns gave up 61 points, albeit to the best offense in college football.  OSU ave...

Our last day on the radio before the first Cajuns game is always the day that fans can call into the show with their season predictions for the Cajuns, Tigers and Saints.  I usually wait until toward the end of the show to give mine.  But those who read this blog get a sneak preview: Starting with the Black and Gold NEW ORLEANS SAINTS Let me say that I like this football team.  A lot. ... Finally. College football season has arrived. No more talk about Ohio State-gate, North Carolina-gate, Miami-gate. And, hopefully not much more talk about Shady's Bar. Nope....now it's time to talk football.  Real football. In addition to the Cajuns and Oklahoma State, here are some of the games I'll be keeping an eye on in week one. ...

The call came just before 2:30 yesterday afternoon. "Hi, Jay, this is Eric Stone at Harris Interactive." It's been a pretty rough last few months for the LSU Tigers. NCAA investigators also wanted to talk to LSU about its relationship with Willie Lyles. The R...
