Jaguars Beat Saints 27-24, Awful Officiating The Story
In a preseason contest that lasted nearly 3 and a half hours, the Jacksonville Jaguars defeated the New Orleans Saints 27-24. Unqualified replacement refs took center stage Friday night, showing why they are indeed "replacements." Game-altering errors, misplacements of the ball, a bevy of unnecessary reviews, and...
17 Worst NFL Games Of 2012
When the NFL released its 2012 NFL schedule, many sports outlets had roundtable discussions about the best games of the 2012 season. Rather than follow in line, why not look at the 17 worst matchups of the 2012 season. Opening weekend, you've got the epic matchup of Christian Ponder and Blaine Gabbert when the Jagaurs and Vikings go at it. Excited!? I didn't think so. Week 2 features...

Jacksonville Jaguars Owner Says; “For Me A Fan Is Somebody Who Is A Season Ticket Holder”
Talk about getting off on the wrong foot!
The new owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars has a huge PR problem, and it's all his fault.
Shahid Khan is in serious damage control mode after his recent statement about what he believes makes a fan of his team.
Khan explained just what it takes to be a Jaguars fan, in his opinion:
"For me a fan is somebody who is a season ticket holder for the Jaguars", said Khan. "So that is a key definition we need to get out."
"We want to hear from people, we want a huge amount of constructive feedback. We need input, but we need that from fans who are season ticket holders."
Really?...Really!?...REALLY!?!?!?!?!?!?
So, if you can't afford season tickets, or if you work on Sundays, thereby making your season tickets almost useless, or if you just prefer to support them in other ways, you aren't a fan, Mr. Khan!?
Personally, I think that's a ludicrous statement, and so do a lot of Jaguar fans, who were more than upset.
As I mentioned, Khan and the Jaguars are now in full damage control mode, as a Jaguars' representative said that Khan was joking, and that it was an off-the-cuff comment.
The representative read an e-mail from Khan:
"All it takes to be a Jaguars fan is to love the Jaguars. And if you love the Jaguars, you're the most important person to me and the entire organization."
Okay, let me give Khan the benefit of the doubt, and assume he was joking (which I highly doubt he was).
Still, a poor decision by delivering a brutal joke.
You're off to a roaring start there in Jacksonville, Mr. Khan. First, you hire Mike Mularkey as your new head coach, and now this.
For the record, I have nothing against Mularkey, but the hiring didn't exactly excite a lot of Jaguar fans.

The NFL’s Most Underwhelming Rookies
Some of the first-round draft choices from the 2011 NFL Draft have made immediate impacts in their rookie season.
Linebacker Von Miller of the Broncos, cornerback Patrick Peterson of the Cardinals, and quarterback Cam Newton of the Panthers are just a few of the rookies who were drafted in the first-round that have their current employers optimistic about the future.
There are others, who while it's still way too early to call them "flops", or even disappointments, that haven't played up to their team's expectation, either because of talent, experience, injuries, or unforeseen circumstances.
What rookies who were drafted in last April's NFL Draft have had the most underwhelming seasons?
Pete Carmichael May Be A Candidate For Head Coaching Jobs
Anytime an NFL team has success, people in their organization will be in demand.
That's certainly the case with the New Orleans Saints, who won the Super Bowl in 2009, made the playoffs last year, and are currently in first-place in the NFC South.
Defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, who has already been a head ocach in the league, received some attention about head coaching opening last year, and now offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael has reportedly been generating some talk.
Again. this should come as no surprise to anyone. Carmichael is a solid coach, who's been part of a winning franchise.
It would be a surprise if his name wasn't bandied about.
Saints Handle Jaguars, 23-10
