While Timberwolves power forward Kevin Love is a highlight reel regular, it was Hornets power forward Jason Smith (pictured above) who stole the show Saturday night in New Orleans. Smith's stat line of 26 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 steals doesn't resemble just how good Jason played. His frontcourt mate Chris Kaman was sensational as well (21 pts, 10 rebs), as the Hornets cruised to a 99-90 victory over Minnesota.

After a 90 day layoff due to injury, Eric Gordon returned to the lineup for the New Orleans Hornets Wednesday night against the Denver Nuggets. He fought through a little rust, scored 15 points, and knocked down two free throws in the final seconds to secure a 94-92 victory for New Orleans.

For the second straight game, the New Orleans Hornets had only 8 healthy players in uniform. Despite all the Linsanity, the New Orleans Hornets walked into Madison Square Garden Friday night and linded the Knicks 7 game winning streak, beating New York 89-85. Despite several key injuries and three players on 10 day contracts, New Orleans has won 3 in a row.

With only 9 healthy players in uniform Monday night, the New Orleans Hornets defeated the Utah Jazz 86-80. Starting Center Emeka Okafor missed the game with a sore left knee. Chris Kaman started in his place and had his best game as a Hornet, finishing with 27 points, 13 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block.

For first 3 quarters of Monday night's home game against the Sacramento Kings, the New Orleans Hornets never trailed. As it has often this season, the 4th quarter got away from the fleur-de-bees, leading to 100-92 defeat.

New Orleans native Greg Monroe had 24 points and 16 rebounds to lead the Detroit Pistons to a home win over the New Orleans Hornets by the score of 89-87. The loss was the fifth straight for the Hornets (4-20). Trevor Ariza (26 Pts, 7 Reb, 4 Ast, 3 Stl) had his best performance of the season in defeat.

The Phoenix Suns exploded in the 4th quarter, outscoring the Hornets by 16. With the late domination, the Suns defeated New Orleans 120-103. Hornets backup point guard Greivis Vasquez (pictured above) had a career night in the defeat, finishing with 20 points, 12 assists, 6 rebounds, and a steal.

The New Orleans Hornets followed their best performance of the season with their worst. After defeating the Orlando Magic by 26 on Friday, the Hornets were handled at home by the Atlanta Hawks Sunday night by the score of 94-72. New Orleans shot a dismal 37.5% from the field.

For the third game in a row, the New Orleans Hornets led for nearly the entire first 3 quarters. And for the third game in a row, they couldn't finish in the 4th.
