Saturday marks the beginning of the fifth week of play for most college football teams, with some very intriguing games on the schedule. Locally, UL hosts FAU, while LSU plays host to Kentucky, and nationally there are a couple of really good match-ups, including Alabama at Florida, and Nebraska at Wisconsin.

Some real interesting games, involving top-25 teams, are scheduled this weekend. Top-ranked LSU is at home for only the second time this season, as the Tigers host the Kentucky Wildcats. Meanwhile, in games involving two ranked teams, Alabama meets Florida, Nebraska takes on Wisconsin, Virginia Tech battles Clemson, and Texas A&M squares off with Arkansas.

The South Carolina Gamecocks followed up their first ever NCAA baseball national championship last year with another one this year. Last night, the Gamecocks finished off their sweep of SEC rival Florida in a 5-2 victory to take home the 2011 College World Series title.

South Carolina defeated the Florida Gators in Game 1 of the CWS finals last night by the score of 2-1. Gamecocks first baseman Christian Walker scored the game-winning run from 1rst base in the top of the 11th thanks to two throwing errors on the play by the Gators.
