FAU Saturday starter scratched this weekend

Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun baseball team returns to the diamond on Friday night, when they travel to Boca Raton, Florida, to take on the FAU Owls, in the opening game of a three-game, weekend, Sun Belt Conference series.

The Women's Final Four is coming up this Sunday and Tuesday in Denver and the winds of change are blowing in the Sun Belt Conference, as already four of the schools in the league are making coaching changes in women's basketball. Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun men's basketball team opened-up Sun Belt Conference play with a victory on Saturday, after defeating the FAU Owls, 67-55, at the Cajundome.

Brett Baer kicked a 26 yard field goal as time expired, propelling Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns to a 37-34 victory over the FAU Owls. Blaine Gautier had another great game, throwing for 329 yards and a TD on 26-33 passing. Harry Peoples had his Cajun coming out party, as he finished with 176 yards receiving, 12 catches, and a score. The Ragin' Cajuns win streak is now at 4.

Saturday marks the beginning of the fifth week of play for most college football teams, with some very intriguing games on the schedule. Locally, UL hosts FAU, while LSU plays host to Kentucky, and nationally there are a couple of really good match-ups, including Alabama at Florida, and Nebraska at Wisconsin.

Rose Gressley pitched a complete game for the Owls, allowing only one earned run while striking out four. The senior was also great swinging the stick, recording an RBI in a 2-for-3 performance at the plate. Her performance led FAU to a 3-1 victory on Thursday over the Troy Trojans.
