Brees, Rodgers, & Brady All Shooting For Marino’s Passing Mark

Dan Marino set the single-season record for passing yards back in 1984, by throwing for 5,084 yards, while a member of the Miami Dolphins.

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees came real close to breaking that record in 2008, when he threw for 5,069 yards.

This season, Brees, along with Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, and Tom Brady, of the New England Patriots, are all threatening to eclipse the 27 year-old mark.

So far this year, Brees has thrown for 3,326 yards in ten games, while Brady has passed for 3,032 yards in nine games, and Rodgers has accumulated 2,869 yards in nine games.

Of the three, which one has the best chance to break Marino's record?

Brees Wants Passing Mark, But Wants Saints To Win More

For the second time in four years, Drew Brees is taking aim at Dan Marino's single-season record for passing yards.

Back in 1984, Marino set the mark, passing for 5,084 yards, while a member of the Miami Dolphins.

Brees came ever-so-close to breaking that record in 2008, falling a mere 15 yards shy of the coveted number.

Through ten games this season, Brees is again challenging Marino's magic number. He's actually on-pace to eclipse the mark, with his 3,326 passing yards, and still six games remaining.

Drew Brees On Pace To Have Career Season

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees is having one of the best seasons in his 11-year NFL career.

Through ten games this year, Brees has completed 71% of his passes, for 3,326 yards, and 23 touchdowns.

If Brees continues at his current pace, he will surpass his career-bests in all three categories.

A record that Brees currently has, and keeps adding to, is his string of 30 consecutive game with at least 20 completed passes.
