Katy Neal's three-run homer highlighted a seven run second inning to propel #3 seed South Alabama to a 10-2 win over #6 Louisiana-Monroe in a mercy rule shortened game at Lamson Park in the first game of the Sun Belt Conference softball tournament at Lamson Park in Lafayette.

Neal's homer off losing pitcher Tiffany Mills gave USA a 3-0 lead.  The Jaguars would go on to score four more times in the inning, highlighted by Haley Hopkins' two run single.

ULM bounced back with two runs off winning pitcher Hannah Campbell in the third inning, but USA put the game away with three more runs in the bottom of the third, once again highlighted by Hopkins, who had a two run double.
