South Alabama only got four hits, but they made them count as the Jaguars eliminated fourth seed Florida International 4-2 in the Sun Belt Conference softball tournament at Lamson Park in Lafayette.

USA advances to tonight's game against undefeated Louisiana in a game scheduled for 5:30 today.  A South Alabama win would force another game between the two teams tomorrow.

The Jaguars took a 1-0 lead in the second on a home run by Christin Crocker and added three more runs on three hits in the third.  Brittany Fowler's two run single was the big blow.  South Alabama got a third run in the inning on an illegal pitch.

FIU got a run back in the fifth on Jes Alfonso's sacrifice fly and added another in the sixth on a bases loaded walk.  The Panthers stranded eight base runners in the game.

Sun Belt Conference Freshman of the Year,  pitcher Hannah Campbell scattered nine hits to get the win.
