Rose Gressley pitched a complete game for the FAU Owls, allowing only one earned run while striking out four. The senior was also great swinging the stick, recording an RBI in a 2-for-3 performance at the plate.

South Alabama's Katy Neal hit an RBI double to right center in the top of the second. It was the only Jaguar run of the game.

FAU tied the score in the third off a Cari Curfman RBI.  Two runs in the bottom of the fourth sealed the victory for FAU with two back-to-back RBIs from Heather Barnes and Gressley. They never looked back, defeating USA 3-1 to advance in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament.

FAU will now await the winner of game ten which will feature No. 7 seed Western Kentucky and the loser of game eight between No. 5 seed Troy and No. 1 seed Louisiana. First pitch for the Owl's next game is set for Friday afternoon at 3.
