In a game that was delayed over two hours by weather, South Alabama's Hannah Campbell pitched a complete game shutout as #2 seed South Alabama defeated #7 Louisiana-Monroe 6-0, in first round action at the Sun Belt Conference Softball Tournament in Boca Raton, FL.

Campbell (20-10) allowed just four hits and didn't walk a batter in helping the Jaguars (36-15) into a winner's bracket game tomorrow afternoon at 3pm (CT) against #3 seed FIU.

South Alabama scored three times in the first inning and led 3-0 after two when rain and lightning forced stoppage of play.  The game resumed at 3:15 CT after a delay of more than two hours.

Brittany Fowler and Hayley Hopkins had two hits apiece for the Jaguars, while Meghan Collins drove in three runs to lead the attack.  The three combined for five of the six South Alabama hits.

Samantha Hamby (7-6) took the loss for ULM (24-25) who will meet Troy in an elimination game tomorrow at 10am.
