The Arkansas St. Red Wolves, following two road wins last week, remain the only unbeaten Sun Belt Conference women’s basketball team, in terms of league games.

Arkansas St. defeated UT-Arlington, 77-71, last Thursday, before downing Texas St. on Saturday, 74-59, to improve their current win streak to eight games, including wins in 10 of their last 11, and are now 14-3, overall, and 8-0 in league play.

Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns, following home wins over South Alabama and Troy last week, are in sole possession of second place.

Louisiana defeated South Alabama on Thursday night, 69-50, before downing Troy, 56-53, on Saturday.

The Cajuns, who have won four-straight, are now 14-3, overall, and 7-1 in league play, one game behind Arkansas St.

Troy, following losses to ULM (77-73) Louisiana (56-53), fell into third place, and are now 10-7, overall, and 5-3 in conference play.

Texas St., who split a pair of games last week, defeating Little Rock, 67-57, on Thursday, before dropping a 74-59 decision to Arkansas St. on Saturday is now 4-3 in league play, good enough for fourth place, to go along with a 9-8 overall record.

Little Rock finished the week in fifth place, at 4-4, after a 67-57 loss at Texas St. last Thursday, followed by a 59-55 win over UT-Arlington last Saturday, moving their overall record to 6-11 on the season.

Georgia St., who defeated Appalachian St., 80-75, in their only game last week, and South Alabama, who split a pair of games, losing to Louisiana, 69-50, before defeating ULM, 63-57, are tied for sixth place, at 3-5. The Panthers are 8-9, overall, while the Jaguars stand at 7-10.

UT-Arlington, Appalachian St. and Georgia Southern are all 2-5 in conference play, and tied for 8th, while ULM is in the cellar at 2-6.

Georgia St. and Appalachian St. who had their regularly scheduled game last Saturday postponed due to snow, will play on Monday afternoon.
