Sun Belt Conference Softball Tournament Day 1 Results
The first day of the 2017 Sun Belt Conference Softball Championship is complete, and two teams are heading home.
The first two games on Wednesday were elimination games, with 5th-seeded UTA defeating 8th-seeded Coastal Carolina, 9-1, before 7th-seeded ULM eliminated 6th-seeded Georgia Southern, 5-4.
The final two games of the play on Wednesday marked the beginning of the double-elimination part of the bracket, with 4th-seed South Alabama shutting out UTA, 5-0, prior to 3rd-seeded Georgia St. downing ULM, 5-2.
The Louisiana Ragin' Cajun softball team returns to action on Thursday, in the second day of play in the 2017 Sun Belt Conference Tournament in Troy, Alabama.
Louisiana, the top-seed, drew an opening day bye, and will take on South Alabama at 10 am.

The Cajuns, the regular season champions, finished the regular season at 42-6, overall, and 23-1 in Sun Belt Conference play.
Louisiana swept a three-game series from South Alabama back in late March in Mobile, Alabama, winning by scores of 8-3, 4-2, and 9-4.
