Former New Orleans Saints safety Steve Gleason and his baby son Rivers starred in the first Microsoft commercial (view it above) to ever air during a Super Bowl

As Super Bowl XLVIII was a blowout by halftime, the audience’s attention became even more hyper focused to the commercials. This one aired in the second half, and Gleason shows us all the power of technology and of its ability to empower.

Gleason will be remembered most by Saints fans for blocking a punt in the Saints’ first home game after Hurricane Katrina. Suffering from ALS, Gleason refuses to give-up, choosing instead to live his life to the fullest. Thanks to technology, he can do things shown in the video below.
