Profession: Retired MLB Player
Best Known For: An 18-time All-Star at various positions, Rod Carew played for the Minnesota Twins and California Angels from 1967 to 1985. Carew won seven American League batting titles and finished his career with 3,053 career hits. He was the American League Rookie of the Year in 1967 and won the AL Most Valuable Player Award in 1977. Carew was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1991.

Mark McGwire
Age: 49
Profession: Retired MLB Player
Best Known For: A 12-time All-Star first baseman, Mark McGwire played for the Oakland Athletics and St. Louis Cardinals from 1986 to 2001. He won the American League Rookie of the Year Award in 1987 and was a member of the Oakland team that won the World Series in 1989. In 1998, McGwire broke Roger Maris’ single-season home-run record by hitting 70 home runs while with the St. Louis Cardinals. He and Sammy Sosa carried on a spirited contest for the home run title, eventually won by McGwire. McGwire averaged a home run once every 10.61 at bats in his career, the best ratio in MLB history. In 2010, McGwire admitted to using steroids for more than 10 years of his career, including the 1998 season. He is currently a hitting coach with the St. Louis Cardinals.

Mats Lindgren
Age: 38
Profession: Retired NHL Player
Best Known For: Mats Lindgren was a center who played for the Edmonton Oilers, New York Islanders and Vancouver Canucks during his injury-plagued NHL career from 1993 to 2003.

Rudi Johnson
Age: 33
Profession: Retired NFL Player
Best Known For: A Pro Bowl running back, Rudi Johnson played for the Cincinnati Bengals and Detroit Lions from 2001 to 2008. His 1,458 rushing yards in 2004 set a Cincinnati Bengals’ franchise record.

Matt Cain
Age: 28
Profession: MLB Player
Best Known For: A three-time All-Star pitcher, Matt Cain has played for the San Francisco Giants since debuting in 2005. Cain was a key member of the Giants’ team that won the 2010 World Series. He pitched a perfect game in June of 2012.
