Willis Reed

Profession: Retired NBA Player/Executive
Best Known For: A seven-time NBA All-Star, Willis Reed spent his entire playing career from 1964 to 1974 with the New York Knicks, who won the NBA championship in both 1970 and 1973. Reed’s most famous performance happened at Madison Square Garden during Game 7 of the 1970 NBA Finals. After missing Game 6 against the Los Angeles Lakers due to a torn thigh muscle, Reed was ruled out for the decisive game. However, Reed thrilled the crowd when he returned to start Game 7 and scored the Knicks’ first two baskets, his only points in a 113-99 Knicks’ win. Reed was the NBA’s Rookie of the Year in 1965, its MVP in 1970 and the MVP of both NBA Finals won by the Knicks. Reed was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1982.

Phyllis George-Brown
Age: 63
Profession: Retired Sportscaster
Best Known For: The winner of the 1971 Miss America pageant, Phyllis George-Brown was one of the first women ever to have a prominent role as a sportscaster. In 1974, George joined the cast of ‘The NFL Today’ on CBS, where she served as a pre-game co-host before National Football League games.

Doug Gilmour
Age: 49
Profession: Retired NHL Player
Best Known For: A two-time all-star, Doug Gilmour was a rugged skater who captained three different teams during an NHL career that lasted from 1983 to 2003. He played for the St. Louis Blues, Calgary Flames, Toronto Maple Leafs, New Jersey Devils, Chicago Blackhawks, Buffalo Sabres and Montreal Canadiens, serving as captain for Calgary, Toronto and Chicago. Gilmour was a member of the Flames when they won a Stanley Cup in 1989. He won the Frank J. Selke Trophy as the NHL’s best defensive forward while with the Maple Leafs in 1993. Gilmour was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2011.

Dikembe Mutombo
Age: 46
Profession: Retired NBA Player
Best Known For: An eight-time all-star, Dikembe Mutombo was one of the best defensive players in NBA history. Mutombo won the NBA Defensive Player of the Year award four times (1995, 1997, 1998, 2001). He is second all-time in blocked shots only to Hakeem Olajuwon. During a career that lasted from 1991 to 2009, Mutombo played for the Denver Nuggets, Atlanta Hawks, Philadelphia 76ers, New Jersey Nets, New York Knicks and Houston Rockets.

Carlos Delgado
Age: 40
Profession: Retired MLB Player
Best Known For: A feared slugger who hit 473 home runs during his major league career, Carlos Delgado was a two-time all-star and a three -time Silver Slugger award winner. During his playing career that lasted from 1993 to 2009, Delgado played for the Toronto Blue Jays, Florida Marlins and New York Mets. While with the Blue Jays in 2003, he hit four home runs in a game against the Tampa Bay Devil Rays on September 25.

Aramis Ramirez

Best Known For: Currently smashing home runs for the Milwaukee Brewers, third-baseman Aramis Ramirez is a three-time all-star selection who has also played with the Pittsburgh Pirates and Chicago Cubs. From 1998 to the present, Ramirez has hit 320 career home runs. Following the 2011 season, he was awarded the Silver Slugger Award as best offensive NL third-baseman.
