Best Known For: The first skater to land the double axel jump and the triple jump, Dick Button has become the voice of figure skating for a generation of audiences. Since winning the gold medal at both the 1948 and 1952 Winter Olympics and five world championships from 1948 to 1952, Button has served as a broadcaster on skating competitions, exhibitions and the Olympics.

Joe Torre
Age: 74
Profession: Retired MLB Player / Coach
Best Known For: A nine-time All-Star as a player, Joe Torre became one of the most successful baseball managers of all time, winning four World Series championships with the New York Yankees and taking the team to the playoffs every year of his managing tenure from 1996 to 2007. During his playing career from 1960 to 1977 with the Milwaukee/Atlanta Braves, St. Louis Cardinals and New York Mets, Torre hit .297 and won the National League’s Most Valuable Player Award in 1971 with St. Louis.

Calvin Peete
Age: 71
Profession: Retired PGA Golfer
Best Known For: The most successful African-American golfer in the era before Tiger Woods, Calvin Peete won 12 PGA titles during a pro golf career that spanned from 1975 to 2001.

Mike Greenwell
Age: 51
Profession: Retired MLB Player
Best Known For: A two-time All-Star selection, Mike Greenwell played left field for the Boston Red Sox from 1985 to 1996. Greenwell finished his career with a .303 batting average.

Dan O’Brien
Age: 48
Profession: Retired Olympian
Best Known For: Winner of the gold medal in the decathlon at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, American Dan O’Brien also won three world championships in the event in 1991, 1993 and 1995. In 1992, a failed pole vault caused O’Brien to be left off the U.S. Olympic team destined for the games in Barcelona. O’Brien and fellow competitor Dave Johnson were featured as part of a multimillion dollar ad campaign by Reebok sneakers prior to the 1992 Summer Olympics. O’Brien was elected into the United States Olympic Hall of Fame in 2012.

Anfernee Hardaway

Profession: Retired NBA Player
Best Known For: A four-time NBA All-Star guard, Anfernee ‘Penny’ Hardaway was one the best players in the NBA before injuries curtailed his career. From 1993 to 2007, Haradaway played with the Orlando Magic, Phoenix Suns, New York Knicks and Miami Heat, averaging 15.2 points and 5.0 assists per game. He was a member of the gold medal-winning U.S. Olympic basketball team in 1996. Haradway was Parade magazine’s National High School Player of the Year in 1990 prior to becoming a First-Team All-American at Memphis State in 1993.

Torii Hunter

Profession: MLB Player
Best Known For: A four-time All-Star and nine-time Gold Glove Award winner, Torii Hunter has been one of the best defensive center fielders in baseball from 1997 to 2012. While playing for the Minnesota Twins from 1997 to 2007, Hunter established a reputation for climbing outfield fences to rob hitters of home runs, as he did in the 2002 All-Star Game against Barry Bonds. Prior to the 2008 season, Hunter signed a free agent contract with the Los Angeles Angels.

Ben Sheets

Best Known For: Ben Sheets was a four-time All-Star pitcher with the Milwaukee Brewers from 2001 to 2008. At the end of the 2008 season, Sheets suffered a tear in his elbow that kept him from participating in the playoffs for Milwaukee. After missing the 2009 season due to the injury, Sheets signed with the Oakland A’s in 2010. He suffered an additional tear late in 2010 and was out of baseball until debuting as a starter in the Atlanta Braves’ rotation in July of 2012. Sheets was also part of the U.S. baseball team that won the gold medal at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia.

Deion Branch

Best Known For: The Most Valuable Player of Super Bowl XXXIX in 2005, Deion Branch has been a wide receiver in the NFL since 2002. Branch has played for the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks while amassing 502 career receptions. He was also a member of the Patriots’ team that won Super Bowl XXXVIII.
