Once play finally resumed, it didn't take long.

After play was suspended for the night in the bottom of the fifth inning because of weather last night, South Alabama made short work of FIU 9-1 in six innings in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament in Boca Raton, FL.

With South Alabama leading 5-1, the Jaguars (37-15) wasted no time in extending their lead.  Haley Hopkins hit her sixth homer of the year and after a walk, Kaitlyn Griffith hit a two run blast to make it an 8-1 lead.  Hopkins and Alyssa Linn had five of the Lady Jags' hits.

Hannah Campbell (21-10) pitched her second complete game of the tournament, allowing just four hits.

FIU (28-26) falls into the loser's bracket and will play North Texas later today.

South Alabama will play the winner of the game between ULM and the UL/WKU loser, also later today.
