Andrew Fonzi pitched three hit ball over seven and one third innings, and Nick Zaharion and J. T. Files both homered to lead #4 seed South Alabama to a 5-3 win over #8 seed Western Kentucky Thursday night at the Sun Belt Conference baseball tournament in Bowling Green, KY.

Fonzi,(2-3) who has pitched out of the bullpen most of the year, made his second consecutive start and handcuffed the Hilltoppers (24-33, 0-2) allowing his only run on an RBI groundout by Ryan Huck.

Zaharion's home run, his 8th of the season, staked USA (23-34, 1-1) to an early lead and Files' first career home run, a two run pinch hit shot in the fifth, gave the Jaguars the lead for good.

The South Alabama victory clinched a spot in the championship game for Louisiana-Monroe.
