Saturday marked the NFL mandated 53 man roster trim down day for all 32 teams following 4 weeks of preseason and 6 weeks of training camp.

Each team had to trim their roster from 90 to 53.

In no surprise, Louisiana Ragin' Cajun running back alum Elijah McGuire made the New York Jets 53 man roster.

McGuire, a 6th round draft pick of New York in April, was impressive throughout camp and preseason. His roster spot wasn't in doubt.

The same can be said for former Louisiana defensive lineman Christian Ringo. Ringo, a 6th round pick of the Green Bay Packers, has been a staple in the Packers defensive front the last two years.

Ringo's former defensive tackle running mate Justin Hamilton did not make the cut in Philadelphia, as the Eagles waived him today.

Undrafted rookie free agent Otha Peters, Louisiana's defensive leader at linebacker a season ago, was waived by the Seattle Seahawks today.

Both Hamilton and Peters are eligible for the practice squad if no teams claim them off waivers.
