Shawn Long's debut in the summer league is done, and his bosses like what they've seen in him.

Long, the former Ragin' Cajun who signed a free agent deal after being passed over in the NBA draft, averaged just over nine minutes per game in his first five games, but his time increased to 19 minutes per game over his last three.

“Plays hard, he’s shown his athleticism, his toughness, has knocked down some shots, finishes around the basket, it’s encouraging,  We know we’ve got him coming into camp. It’s encouragement from there, what we’ve seen in the summer, knowing that he’s going to come in competing like the rest of the guys for roster spots.”--Lloyd Pierce, the Sixers' lead coach in Las Vegas.

Long scored 21 points in just 16 minutes against the NBA D-League Select team on July 13th.
