Six LSU underclassmen (4 juniors, 2 red shirt sophomore) eligible for the NFL draft have elected to remain in school and return to the 2015 LSU football team.

Sophomore wide receiver and Breaux Bridge native Travin Dural, sophomore offensive lineman Jerald Hawkins, junior offensive lineman Vadal Alexander, junior tight end Dillon Gordon, junior linebacker Lamar Louis, and junior safety Jalen Mills held a joint press conference today with head coach Les Miles, announcing their decision.

“These guys handled the decision with maturity,” Miles said. “There are a variety of draft positions represented in this group. What they did was postpone wealth and said that there is more to accomplish. They want to get a degree, play for a championship and raise their draft status"

In recent years, LSU has seen a rash of players forego their remaining eligiblity to declare of the NFL draft. Two years ago, 10 underclassmen declared, while 7 more declared early last year.

Junior defensive back Jalen Collins, junior defensive end Danielle Hunter, and junior linebacker Kwon Alexander are the only 3 players this year to forgo their senior season and enter the draft.

As for the players staying, Miles was quick to explain the decision was not his.

“The decision is certainly not ours. It is theirs," explained Miles. "What we do is give them as much information as we can. We have ties to the NFL and we have ties to player personnel people who very comfortably give advice. We turned in our inquiry to the NFL and they returned it with draft positions. We shared those with these guys. This is a personal decision and it’s what is best for them. I’m excited."

Many Tiger supporters are excited too.
