During his three year career as a Louisiana Ragin' Cajun, 6-9 forward Shawn Long has heard the cheers after a thunder dunk, a clutch three pointer or a blocked shot.

Thursday night, he got another standing ovation.  And, he didn't have to leave his feet.

At the Rebounders' Club postseason banquet at at the City Club, head basketball coach Bob Marlin announced Long would return for his senior season rather than leave as an early entry for the NBA draft, getting the large crowd assembled to its feet for a prolonged ovation.

Long averaged a double double again for the Cajuns in helping to lead the squad to a 22 win season in 2014-15.  His return insures all five Cajuns' starters will be back, including sophomores-to-be Bryce Washington and Johnathan Stove, along with juniors Hayward Register and Jay Wright.  The Cajuns reached the quarterfinals of the CIT Postseason tournament before falling to eventual champion Evansville.

Long also took home Offensive Player of the Year and the Rebounder's Award.  Wright was named the Defensive Player of the Year.  Steven Wronkoski was the recipient of the Academic Achievement Award, while Washington received the Beryl Shipley Leadership Award.
