Shawn Long, a member of Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun men's basketball team, was recently ranked among the top 100 college basketball players in the country by CollegeBasketballTalk.com.

A native of Morgan City, Long averaged 16.4 points and 10.2 rebounds per game last season and was named to the Lou Henson All-America team in addition to being named a first-team All-Sun Belt and All-Louisiana selection.

CollegeSportsMadness.com recently named Long Preseason Mid-Major Player of the Year.

The three-time All-Sun Belt Conference pick was one of only seven collegians to play for the U.S. men's basketball team that claimed the bronze medal at the 2015 Pan American Games. Long enters his final season in a Ragin' Cajuns uniform as the NCAA active leader in double-doubles (52) and total rebounds (1,036). Long is ranked second among active NCAA players in rebound average (10.3) and is seventh in blocked shots (212).

Long enters the 2015-16 campaign 28 rebounds shy of Roy Ebron's career school mark (1,064), while ranking seventh overall in scoring with 1,700 career points.

CollegeBasketballTalk.com ranks Providence guard Kris Dunn as the top player in the country, followed by LSU's Ben Simmons at #2.

Rounding out the top five are Kentucky's Skal Labissiere, Oklahoma's Buddy Hield, and Iowa St.'s Georges Niang.
