Louisiana Ragin' Cajun big man Shawn Long has had mailman like performances, delivering on the hardwood. Today, he was named 1 of 10 finalists for the Karl Malone Award.

The senior from Morgan City leads the Sun Belt this season in rebounds (13.0), blocked shots (1.9), and is second in scoring (19.4).

Long is in 5th place all-time in school history in scoring, and already holds the record for most blocked shots in school and Sun Belt history.

He is the NCAA active career leader in rebounds (1,296) and double-doubles (67).

The Karl Malone Award will be delivered to the best power forward in Division I college basketball. The winner will be announced at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
