Louisiana's Golden Glove state championships took place in Lafayette over the weekend, crowning champions from different weight classes.

Several of the champs have local ties, punching their ticket to the Mid-South Regional Golden Glove championships in Little Rock, Arkansas next month.

If they succeed in Little Rock, they'll compete in the National Golden Glove championships at the Cajundome Convention Center from April 30th-May 6th.

Brandon Arvie of the Ragin' Cajun boxing club in Lafayette won the 132 lb. title, defeating Victor Hernandez out of Houma in the championship bout.

Arvie also took home the "Outstanding Boxer" award given to one fighter from the weekend's entire event.

Dominic Papillion, who fights out of Lafayette's Cornerman boxing club and is the son of local fighter Jason Papillion, won the 147 lb. state title, beating Raymond Gan out of New Orleans on Friday night.

Other local winners included several fighters from the the Backstreet Boxing Club in Carencro, including Keenan Glaude who won the 141 lb. title and Quinton Benjamin who won the 123 lb. title.

Female Gabrielle Marvin won her her 139 lb. title match over Annabelle Singleton via TKO in the third round. It was a non-qualifying fight.
