Seven big SEC series' highlight the second weekend of conference play this week.
In the east, after one weekend of play, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, Florida, and Tennessee are all 2-1, while Georgia, Missouri, and Kentucky are 0-1.
In the west, Alabama, Auburn, and Mississippi St. are all 2-1, while Arkansas, LSU, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M all check in at 1-2.

Let's take a look at the respective conference series' schedule for this weekend, with the statistics entering play earlier in the week:

 

#1 SOUTH CAROLINA (18-1, 2-1) at KENTUCKY (15-6, 1-2)

This match-up will feature the top two hitting teams in the SEC, with Kentucky at the top (.322) and South Carolina right behind (.315)

The Wildcats, who also lead the league in home runs (18), runs scored (194), and stolen bases (39), feature three of the top four hitters in the league, in Michael Thomas (.417), Austin Cousino (.409), and A.J. Reed (.406).

The Gamecocks, who are tied with Ole Miss for second in the league in homers (14) have Connor Bright, who is tied with Thomas, at a .417, which is tops in the league.

In terms of pitching, South Carolina ranks first (1.36 ERA.), with Kentucky checking in at number ten (2.78).

Game times are scheduled for 5:30 pm, 1 pm, and noon (cdt), Friday-Sunday.

 

#6 VANDERBILT (19-3, 3-1) at MISSISSIPPI ST. (15-8, 2-1)   

Offensively, Vanderbilt ranks fifth in hitting (.289), while Mississippi St. ranks tenth (.269).

Pitching-wise the Commodores rank second in ERA. (1.38), while the Bulldogs currently rank 11th (2.96).

Game times are set for 6:30 pm, 7:30, and 1:30 (cdt) Friday-Sunday

 

GEORGIA (14-8, 1-2) at #8 LSU (18-4, 1-2)

In the hitting department, LSU ranks sixth (.288), with Georgia right behind (.286) ay number seven.

In terms of pitching, the Tigers, led by right-hander Aaron Nola, who is second in the conference with a sparkling 0.27 ERA., currently rank fifth as a team (2.06), while the Bulldogs rank last (4.43).

Scheduled game times are 7 pm (cdt) on Friday, 6:30 pm on Saturday, and noon on Sunday.

 

AUBURN (15-7, 2-1) at #18 TENNESSEE (18-2, 2-1)

Auburn ranks eight in hitting (.277), and ninth in pitching (2.77 ERA.), while Tennessee ranks fourth in hitting (.299) and seventh in pitching (2.28).

Game times are set for 5 pm, 3 pm, and 1 pm (cdt), Friday-Sunday.

 

MISSOURI (10-10, 1-2) at #20 OLE MISS (18-4, 1-2) 

Offensively, Missouri ranks 12th in hitting (.260), while Ole Miss is hitting a .313, which ranks third.

In the pitching category, the Tigers are currently 13th (3.14 ERA.), while the Rebels rank sixth (2.13).

Game times for the series are 6:30 pm (cdt) on Friday, and 1:30 pm on both Saturday and Sunday.

 

ALABAMA (14-6, 2-1) at ARKANSAS (11-7, 1-2)

Alabama currently ranks 11th in hitting (.262) and fourth in pitching (1.91 ERA.), while Arkansas ranks last in hitting (.253) and third in pitching (1.86).

Scheduled game times for the series are 6:30 pm (cdt), 2 pm, and 1 o'clock, on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, respectively.

 

FLORIDA (14-7, 2-1) at TEXAS A&M (15-7, 1-2) 

Florida ranks 13th in team batting average, at a .259, and 12th in pitching, with a 3.13 ERA., while Texas A7M rank ninth (.276) and eighth (2.29), respectively.

The two teams will play on Friday night at 6:30 pm (cdt), and then on Saturday at 2 o'clock, and on Sunday at 1 pm.
