New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton continues to rise up the list of all-time NFL coaching victories, including both the regular season and the preseason.

Sunday's 52-38 Saints' win over the Detroit Lions was victory number 103 in Payton's career, which pushed him past 3-time Super Bowl winner Bill Walsh, and into sole possession of 43rd place among all-time coaching wins.

Payton, who became head coach of the Saints in 2006, has guided the team to a 97-68 regular season record, to go along with a 6-4 playoff record, for an overall record of 103-72.

The 53-year old Payton, who led the Saints to a victory in Super Bowl XLIV, following the 2009 season, is two wins away from equaling the legendary Vince Lombardi and Tom Flores, who both finished their respective careers with 105 victories.

Three former Saints head coaches rank ahead of Payton, including Hank Stram (136 wins) and #24, Mike Ditka (127 wins) at #27, and Jim Mora (125 wins) at #29.

Payton has an awful long way to go to catch the all-time leader, Don Shula, who accumulated an amazing 347 victories.
